Holy shit.
This movie was actually kind of freaky. I’m pretty sure TBS censored a lot of it, but not enough!
Halle Berry is the definition of “hot mess” and Robert Downey Jr is so amazing. And Penelope Cruz? She has really cute hair. She steals every scene in my heart—I want those bangs.
But did anyone else find it unbelieve that Halle Berry would hook up with a guy like Charles Dutton? That little kiss they shared at the beginning of the movie was a little awkward. No, scratch that—it was REALLY awkward. To explain the awkwardness, I thought maybe she was banging RDJ on the side, but it turns out that they weren’t having an affair. Just so unrealistic and super puzzling. They should’ve cast someone more charming, like Keanu Reeves. Ha.
The movie isn’t over yet, but I’m curious to find out whether or not the murder charges are dropped. I mean, yeah, she did save a girl from a terrible fate, and uncover the ugly truth about her husband and his BFF, but still—she was the one who brutally killed him, possesion by a ghost of a 15 year old rape victim or not. The last time I looked, vigilantism was illegal, and people still went to prison for murdering those who seemingly deserved it.
Update: Yep, a year later and she’s walking down the street with Penelope Cruz. Maybe they made her serve like 3 months or something. And why the hell is Penelope Cruz free? Didn’t she also murder someone? Wasn’t that why she was in prison? What the fuck?
I need to stop watching movies on TBS after midnight. I just set myself up for disappointment.
